These terms are an agreement between you and Bizroom [legal entity name, state] (“Bizroom”, “we”). By creating an account, joining a room or using the app, you agree to them.
Who can use Bizroom
You must be at least 18, and run or represent a real business in the United States. What you tell us on your application and profile must be true, and you keep it current. You're responsible for activity on your account.
How you get in
You join through a member's invitation, or by applying. Applications are reviewed by the chapter's director against our published criteria. We may decline an application, and we don't have to give a reason. Decisions are never based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or any other characteristic protected by law.
Free, Plus and Pro
Free includes every Networking Room for your first 60 days, plus one Industry Meetup and one Expert Room to try, then 2 Networking Rooms a month. Plus is a paid subscription ($39/month or $390/year) with 4 Networking Rooms a month (your chapter, visits and crossovers), plus one Industry Meetup and one National Networking Room a month, a Small Group and one Expert Room to try. Expert Rooms are part of Pro. An invitation to a room from its host, expert or a chapter leader lets you book that room on any plan. Pro is a paid subscription, billed monthly ($99) or yearly ($990) through our payment processor. Founding-member prices stay the same while you stay continuously subscribed. You can cancel anytime; your plan stays on until the end of the period you've paid for, and we don't refund partial periods you've used. Plan limits are shown in the app and may change with notice. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice of a price change. [Confirm refund terms.]
Your content
You own what you post: your profile, offers, intro video, presentations, files and messages. You give Bizroom permission to host and show it to members the way the app is designed to (for example, your profile in your chapter), for as long as it's on Bizroom. You confirm you have the right to post it.
What you agree not to do
Don't spam, mass message or pitch people who didn't ask; harass anyone; recruit members into a business opportunity, multi-level marketing plan or downline; misrepresent yourself or your business; record rooms yourself or copy members' contact details out of Bizroom; post anything illegal, infringing or harmful; or try to get around the platform's limits or security.
No guarantees
Bizroom helps members meet and talk. We don't guarantee leads, sales, referrals or results, and we aren't part of any deal between members. Members are responsible for their own businesses, licenses, offers and agreements. Expert Room content is general information, not professional advice. The service is provided “as is.”
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Bizroom's total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. You agree to cover claims that arise from your own conduct or content. [Attorney to finalize.]
Chapter directors
Directors and assistant directors are members who help run a chapter. They aren't Bizroom employees or agents and can't change these terms or make promises for Bizroom.
Changes and disputes
We'll tell you by email and in the app at least 30 days before material changes take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Texas. [Attorney to decide: venue, arbitration, class-action waiver.]
2. Privacy Policy
We collect what we need to run Bizroom well, and we don't sell your personal information.
What we collect
Account and profile: your name, email, phone, business, industry, city, chapter, offers, photo and intro video.
Applications: what you tell us when you apply, and the director's decision.
Activity: rooms you book and attend, connections, follow-ups, messages, tags and feedback you give.
Recordings of Networking Rooms, Expert Rooms and Industry Meetups (see Recording below). Small Groups and breakout rooms are never recorded.
Payments: handled by our payment processor. We see your plan and billing status, not your full card number.
Technical: device, browser and log data that keeps the app working and secure.
How we use it
To run rooms and your chapter, match you with the right people, deliver follow-ups and messages, send the emails you choose, review reports and keep members safe, process payments, and improve Bizroom.
Who sees it
Members see your profile and offers. Your email and phone are private: a member sees them only after you share them with that person in Messages.
Your chapter's director and assistant directors see your application and chapter activity.
Service providers who help us run Bizroom (video, email, payments, hosting), only for that purpose.
The law: when required by law, or to protect members' safety.
We don't sell your personal information or share it for others' advertising.
How long we keep it
Account data, while you're a member and for a reasonable time after, for records, safety and legal reasons. Recordings for 90 days unless tied to an open report. Messages until you or the other person deletes them.
Your choices
Edit your profile anytime. Choose which emails you get in Settings → Email & notifications, or use the unsubscribe link in any email. Block or mute members in Settings → Privacy & messages. To see, export or delete your data, email [email protected]; residents of some states have additional rights, and we honor them.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; tell us right away if you think your account was misused.
Children
Bizroom is for adults running businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
3. Room rules
Everyone agrees to these before their first room, and again when they change.
Show up BIG.Buy, Introduce, Grow.
Buy. When someone in the room sells what you need, buy it.
Introduce. When you don't need it, ask yourself, "Who can I introduce them to?"
Grow. After this call, invite owners and decision makers you trust to the next room. More faces means more business for everyone.
Camera on. In Networking Rooms and Industry Meetups, keep your camera on the whole time. People are meeting you, not a name on a screen. In Expert Rooms it's up to you.
Share a screen, not a video. You can share your website, slides or the Sales Enablement Tool. No videos: they play like a commercial, and the sound often doesn't come through. If your screen doesn't share, don't stop to fix it. Keep going and talk through it. The clock keeps running.
Keep it clean. No foul or inappropriate language, and nothing obscene on screen or in chat.
Be supportive. Be kind, encouraging and constructive. Everyone here is building something.
Respect the clock. Presentations are a hard stop at 3 minutes. When the host's clock hits zero, you're done.
The host runs the room. The host can mute you or remove you from the room at their discretion, for example if your camera stays off. If you're removed, you can't rejoin that room and your Connect tags from it aren't sent.
Rate every presentation. After each presentation you get 30 seconds to rate it 1 to 10. Rating is required; feedback, Connect and a message are optional. Presenters only ever see the average, never who gave what. Messages wait until the room ends, so listen to the next presenter instead of typing. Missed one? Rate it in Final ratings, before the host closes the room.
Stay to the end. Your messages, Connect tags and feedback are delivered only if you stay for the whole room, rate every presentation and confirm at the end. Leaving early or missing a rating forfeits them, and messaging people from that room stays off. Had a real reason? Ask your chapter director to review it.
This room is recorded. For everyone's safety, rooms are recorded and kept private by Bizroom. A recording is only reviewed if someone reports a problem, and it's deleted after 90 days.
Presentation length is set by each room's host (usually 3 minutes).
4. Recording
Recorded: Networking Rooms, Expert Rooms and Industry Meetups. The room tells you before you join, and shows “Recorded” while it runs. Joining means you consent.
Never recorded: Small Group meetings, lead exchanges and breakout rooms.
Recordings are private to Bizroom. They're reviewed only if someone reports a problem, never used for marketing, and deleted after 90 days unless tied to an open report.
You may not record any room yourself.
5. Messaging
Messages are for members talking with each other. Announcements from your chapter's directors and the Bizroom team come as notifications, never as messages, and you can turn their emails off in Settings → Email & notifications.
You can message anyone you've met in a room, a breakout or your Small Group.
Someone you haven't met gets one first message from you; you can send more once they reply.
On Free you can message anyone you've met in a room, a breakout or your Small Group. Members can start 5 new conversations a month with people they haven't met, and Pro 20.
Directors can send their chapter up to 2 announcements a week and shout out wins members logged; the Bizroom team can send every member up to 2 a week.
No spam, mass messages or unwanted pitches. You can edit or unsend your messages, and block, mute or report anyone.
We review reported messages and the conversation around them, and may pause messaging for members who break these rules.
6. Hosting
Every hosted room is approved first: Networking Rooms by the chapter's director, national rooms by the Bizroom team.
Up to 3 rooms a month (2 Networking Rooms, 1 of each other kind), with at least 3 days' notice. Hosting is part of Pro; chapter directors and assistant directors have Pro included.
Hosts open on time, keep the clock and the rules, and end on time. Expert Rooms teach; they don't sell from the stage (one offer at the end is fine).
7. Membership and removal
Who Bizroom is for
A real, operating business. We can find it: a website, a Google listing, LinkedIn or a phone number that answers.
Based in the US. Your business operates in the United States.
You can say yes. You're an owner, partner, executive, or responsible for sales.
You grow through relationships. Selling to businesses or to households, referrals and trust are how you get customers.
Not here to recruit. Rooms aren't for recruiting people into a business opportunity or a downline.
You'll keep the room rules. Present your offer, respect the clock, follow up, and treat people well.
Free accounts
A new free account stays open for 60 days while you get to your first room. If you haven't attended a room by then, it pauses until you book one.
Ending a membership
You can leave anytime. Bizroom may end or suspend a membership with cause (for example spam, harassment, recruiting, misrepresentation, or repeatedly breaking the room rules) or at our discretion. We'll send a short notice; we don't have to give a reason. If you're on Pro, we refund unused prepaid dues for the current period. A removed member may not rejoin or reapply without our written permission. If you think we made a mistake, email [email protected].
8. Student seats
A pilot in some chapters: college students sit in on Networking Rooms to meet local owners who may have work.
Who: students 18 or older, currently enrolled, who apply with a school (.edu) email. The chapter's director approves each one.
In the room: up to 2 students per Networking Room, outside the room's member seats. Students listen while members present, then present themselves (not a business offer) with the same time members get, after the last member. Up to 2 rooms a month, in their own chapter. Students may also listen in on Expert Rooms.
Reaching out: students and members connect and message the same way everyone on Bizroom does. A student can also sit in without presenting. Students don't host rooms or join Small Groups.
Work: Bizroom makes introductions only. We aren't an employer, staffing agency or school, and we don't screen jobs. Pay, hours, internships and employment law are between the member and the student. Members follow the law on paid and unpaid internships. No one may ask a student to pay for a job or training.
Safety: the room rules and messaging rules apply to everyone. Reports involving a student go to the chapter's director right away, and we may remove anyone who treats students unprofessionally.
Recording: Networking Rooms are recorded as described above, including the student's introduction.
9. Beyond your chapter
National Networking Rooms: open to members from every chapter, with no visit used. Up to 2 people per industry in a room. Free and Member plans book 1 a month; Pro members book as many as they like.
Crossovers: once a quarter, Bizroom pairs your chapter with another. The crossover room is open to both chapters with the seats split in half, and no visit is used.
Happy hours: in person, hosted by your chapter's director, quarterly (monthly once a chapter has 60 active members). Each member may bring one guest, free. Pro members get in free; everyone else pays $25, in the app, when they RSVP, and a spot is held once it's paid. Cancel at least 48 hours before and it's refunded; if the event is canceled, everyone is refunded. Drink responsibly; you're responsible for getting home safely. Bizroom isn't the venue and doesn't serve alcohol.
Chapter sponsors: one local business sponsors a chapter for a calendar month and is named as "presented by" on the chapter's weekly update, rooms and happy hours. Sponsors rotate, with a waiting list when months fill; national sponsors can sponsor several chapters in a month. Sponsorships are paid through Bizroom before the month starts. A sponsor gets no access to members' contact details and follows the same messaging rules as everyone else.
Presented for you: if you can't make a Networking Room you booked, an approved Bizroom presenter can give your presentation from a script you approve, for $49 paid in the app (refunded if no presenter takes it, or if you cancel at least 24 hours before). The room is told who it's presented for. Up to 2 per room and 2 a month per member, and never two of your rooms in a row. Presenters say your script as written and don't make promises for you; any business that follows is between you and the other member.
The room rules apply in person too: be respectful, no hard selling, and the director can ask anyone to leave.
These policies are a plain-English draft and will be reviewed by an attorney before launch. Bracketed items are still being decided.
